Athleticism on the high plateau. Some sites demand everything of the vines, and give them immortality in return. High up on the Bisamberg stretches the striking high plateau of the Falkenberg: a place that seems made to produce a Weissburgunder of stature.
Up here a very special climate prevails. The exposed altitude and the constant fresh breezes flood the vineyards with irrepressible vitality and charge the grapes with a fascinating, electrifying tension. But the true powerhouse lies hidden: an exceptionally high lime activity shapes the foundation of these vines. It gives the wine not only profound minerality but also an almost athletic length on the palate: powerful, sinewy and full of proud elegance.
Such a character needs time to find its inner calm. For 18 months this Weissburgunder matures slowly and gently in wooden barrels. It is a phase of maturation that gives it its unshakeable poise, its venerable depth and a monumental potential.
This extraordinary significance of the site does not go unnoticed. It is the perfection of soil, wind and craftsmanship that ennobles this vineyard and lets it shine with pride as an Erste Lage of the ÖTW.
Incl. VAT, plus shipping.

Notes of ripe pears and stone fruit, walnuts and sponge biscuit, powerful, noble and balanced.
The Falkenberg, a high plateau on Vienna's Bisamberg, guarantees depth and elegance. The special altitude of the vineyards, interspersed with forest, and the great wealth of shell limestone sediments shape a Burgundian style of wine. This special significance ennobles the vineyard as 1ÖTW (Erste Lage of the Österreichische Traditionsweingüter).
