The secret of the extreme. Some places prefer to keep their deepest secrets to themselves. Anyone looking at the Ried Gabrissen sees the familiar picture of a gentle, almost meditatively curved slope. But in the midst of this apparent idyll, a mighty, steeply rising gravel bank asserts itself. A forgotten relic of prehistoric times, in which Ice Age quartz rests in the ground as a stone foundation and charges the terroir with a quiet, magical power.
Above this wine hovers a single, cryptic letter: X.
It is not a name but a cipher. A code for the untamed, the X-treme. This X bears vivid witness to the extreme conditions of a site that demands absolute devotion from the vines. It is the signature of a struggle between plant and primary rock that takes place deep beneath the earth.
In the glass, no everyday wine reveals itself, but the liquid answer to geological fascination. A Veltliner full of dark mystique and rugged elegance, for all who are ready to be touched by the fascinating intensity of an extreme terroir.
Incl. VAT, plus shipping.
The „X-treme“ Veltliner: flattering and profound, ripe fruit notes and extract sweetness shape this rich wine
Taste: complex and balanced
The exceptional terroir, old vines and a late, staggered harvest produce a monumental wine with great ageing potential.
Its adaptability makes it an all-rounder at the table.
According to analyses by the Federal Office of Viticulture (Bundesamt für Weinbau), the histamine content is below 0.1 mg/l and therefore not detectable.
Contains sulphites.
Powerful, dense, ripe fruit of yellow damson plums, exotic notes, well balanced, fully ripe pink grapefruit, elegant and complex
The Ried Gabrissen lies on a steep south-facing slope on Vienna's Bisamberg, shaped by alluvial Ice Age gravel of white quartz that reaches up to the surface.
