The box seat. Some vineyards do not just look out over the world, they are enthroned above it. High up on the slopes of the Bisamberg lies the Ried Wiesthalen. Whoever stands here has Vienna at their feet: a majestic, almost dizzyingly beautiful panoramic view of the city that instantly silences everyday life.

But the true magic of this place lies deeply hidden. It is a landscape full of contrasts and deep security: behind the vines watch the densely wooded hilltops of the mountain, while the soil tells a story millions of years old. Clay-mineral-rich earth, interspersed with plenty of calcareous scree, forms the foundation for a living legend: our oldest Wiener Gemischter Satz DAC.

In this sheltered refuge more than ten different grape varieties grow not next to each other, but with each other. They share the sun, the wind and the mineral power of the soil. The result in the glass is far more than just wine; it is the unmistakable, liquid fingerprint of this unique terroir. A wine that makes no compromises and that makes the distinctiveness of its origin deeply and movingly tangible with every sip.

The vines for this special wine come from another „wine era“. No international clones, no breeding for yield and vigour.

Selected from the region and therefore perfectly adapted, vines over 80 years old find a wonderful home here.

The wine rests for around 18 months in the barrel and is bottled without treatments or sterile filtration.

According to analyses by the Federal Office of Viticulture (Bundesamt für Weinbau), the histamine content is below 0.1 mg/l and therefore not detectable.
Contains sulphites.

Notes of ripe pome fruit, juicy apples and brioche, multi-layered, a fine, mildly spicy finish.

Flysch sandstone millions of years old, coral limestone and a wealth of clay minerals alternate from the foot of the vineyard to the top. This special significance ennobles the vineyard as 1ÖTW (Erste Lage of the Österreichische Traditionsweingüter).
