A story of chance. Sometimes the most beautiful works come about precisely when we stop planning. This Weissburgunder tells the story of a slip of nature. A classic, dry path in our Burgundy portfolio had actually been planned for it. But a single wooden barrel stubbornly refused to turn all of its sugar into alcohol and went its own way.

After watching reverently for quite some time, we faced a decision. We decided against pushing the barrel or forcing it into a corset. We trusted nature and let it set the pace. Finally, with a fine, gentle residual sweetness, we carefully racked the wine off the lees.

The result in the glass is a fascinating gift. A lively, crystal-clear acidity balances the quiet, melting sweetness in an incredibly fine, almost weightless way.
